The cart is open! I am officially inviting you to Sketch Your Adventures. I am accepting new students right now.
Let me get right into it. You have heard about my Let Go & Sketch approach and how it’s super effective to get you sketching your world in ink and watercolour without fear and judgement and more fun and freedom.
You’ve seen how you can take normal everyday items and sketch them in a carefree manner but with maximum personality. And we have looked at how awesome it is to have sketchbooks filled with fun memories and interesting stories from home and your travels.
Now, does this mean you will be a superstar sketchbooker overnight? Probably not. You do actually have to do the work. You have to get that sketchbook out and start drawing regularly. But this should be something you are bursting with excitement to do each day (or regularly at least) and certainly not a chore. Because we won’t be doing any boring exercises. We get right bang into the action.
The myth most people tell themselves is that they can’t do it because they don’t have talent. This is a disservice to yourself and other people who are deemed to be talented. Because what it actually takes is dedication, commitment and practice. This course will get you there far quicker than figuring it out on your own, but it can’t get your sketchbook out for you, it can’t lift your pen up and it can’t splash some watercolour paint around. Those bits are the stuff you have to do. And if you do it, then I know you will have sketchbooks filled with incredible sketches that you will be proud of.
Right, now that’s out of the way…here’s what I can guarantee. I’m really proud of this course. I don’t hold anything back, I’m sharing my exact step-by-step process of how I approach sketching in ink and watercolour without leaving out any information.
It’s 100% up to date, fresh and in-depth. It’s not a bunch of abstract theory but rather a field guide that shows you step-by-step how to become a confident travel sketcher. I believe if any program is going to help you craft quirky ink and watercolour sketches then it is this one.
A lot of people love the Youtube content I produce for the Urban Sketching World channel. And because of that, a number of people have already joined me for this course.
Here is some of what they have to say about Sketch Your Adventures:
Here is what is included in the course.
I will show you my exact sketching process in ink and watercolour. I have travelled around the world in the last 3 years and this is my go-to system of creating beautiful yet quirky illustrations to capture the magic of my discoveries.
We will work through 3 projects, step by step, all of which are real-life examples of things I have sketched along my travels. I provide the photo references you can work from.
We will start by choosing a composition, laying in the initial pencil sketch, adding ink lines, layering watercolour and adding the final touches.
You will get to see everything I do and what I am thinking when I make certain decisions while sketching, pretty much in real-time. I’m told by previous students, that listening to me “think out loud” while making certain decisions has really helped them understand the decisions they make while sketching too – see Amanda’s feedback above.
In module one we will focus on street furniture. I’ll show you exactly how to sketch something seemingly mundane, like road signs, and how we can make them interesting. You will learn how to capture the magic of where you are in simple ways.
In module two we will build on the step by step process we learned in module one but with a slightly more complex subject – an ornate doorway from the city of Valletta, Malta. You’ll discover how to edit what you see to produce a stunning sketch of ornate architectural features.
And finally in module three we will bring everything we have learned so far together to sketch an entire building.
I’ll share powerful techniques on how to achieve contrast in your sketches. You’ll learn my favourite tools and art supplies as well as my strategies for dealing with “mistakes”.

This course is different from anything else you’ve seen before. There’s no boring rules or exercises, I get straight to the point and shows you exactly what you have to do to sketch the world around you in a unique and quirky way. It’s more like a field guide that’s going to reveal every single secret, every technique, every strategy that’s working for me and all my successful students. You can use this exact process too and get awesome results with my let go & sketch approach.
Just like Rina…
I’m also giving you bonus content worth over $500 as a welcome gift. If you know anything about me then you know I always try to over-deliver and give as much value as possible. I care very much about the results that my students will get, and that’s why I’m giving you these free bonuses worth over $500 when you join Sketch Your Adventures today.
